Kathleen Andre - Bio
Kathleen Andre is a watercolor and acrylic artist and a native Californian. She grew up on a peach ranch near Modesto. Art and creativity came naturally, and her Mother was very creative as well in arts and crafts.
Kathleen took art classes in high school and college while majoring in psychology. Throughout the years she has learned and enjoyed calligraphy, collage, crafting, sewing, card making, and sketching. Watercolor painting became a passion fifteen years ago with art classes at Santa Rosa Junior College, but the past five years she has focused on acrylic paintings.
Favorite subjects include anything she finds beautiful and intriguing, such as water scenes, landscapes, animals, birds, and koi and people.
She loves the timeless, meditative experience that comes in the painting process, and uses her intuition creatively to develop a composition. Mixing the color of paint for just the right shade is another favorite aspect of painting.
Kathleen has studied art locally with Marsha Connell, Michele Ferandell, Jean Warren, and Karen Ingalls. She is an active member of Artists Workshop of West Sonoma County (AWS), Artists Round Table (ART), and Oakmont Art Association, and her work is included on their websites. It’s a great pleasure to be part of a wonderful, very talented Artist’s community in Sonoma County.
Kathleen shows and sells her paintings in local galleries, art shows, festivals and fairs and has won many awards. Her paintings have found new homes in California and other States throughout the Country.
She hopes the viewers of her art see something in her paintings that captures their imagination or reminds them of something in their own life stories that is beautiful, with an emotional impact that is meaningful to them.
